Description of the hike

The Furggu Trail leads to the equalising equalising at Zermeiggern, where it is recommended to put on snowshoes. Past the Zermeiggern chapel to the path, which was already used hundreds of years ago by traders between Italy and Switzerland, into the beautiful Furggtälli.

At the confluence of the Furggbach stream and the Saaser Vispa river, the trail crosses over to the left-hand side of the valley (facing uphill), climbs up to Stutzbode, and continues to Stafel. From the path, hikers can enjoy views over the Furggbach Gorge, which used to be popular with canyoning fans. After crossing the bridge at Stafel, the trail forks off westwards and leads over the Furggu, and the Chalchofe to Elschgrabe, then descends to Chapf and Furggstalden.

The chairlift from Furggstalden to Saas-Almagell is recommended for the descent.
